WMEKit Account

Terms of Service

Effective 2 October 2026

These terms cover your WMEKit account and the account service at auth.wmekit.com ("the service", "we", "us"): the one sign-in for WMEKit apps such as WME Requests and WME Sync. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Questions are welcome at wazer@wmekit.com.

1. About WMEKit

WMEKit is an independent, unofficial, free community project for Waze Map Editors. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Waze or Google. "Waze" is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to describe what the tools are for.

2. Who can use it

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • Each account is for one person. Don't share it or create accounts for anyone else.
  • You must not use the service if we've previously disabled your account, unless we've agreed otherwise.

3. Your account

  • Give a real email address that you control, and keep it up to date. We use it to verify your account, reset your password, send sign-in codes, and warn you about security changes.
  • Keep your sign-in methods safe: use a strong password you don't use elsewhere, and we recommend turning on two-factor authentication. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • If you think someone else has access to your account, change your password, review your security log, and email wazer@wmekit.com straight away.
  • If you sign in with Google or Discord, your use of that account is also subject to their terms. If you lose access to it, add another sign-in method (such as a password) so you aren't locked out.

4. WMEKit apps

Your account signs you in to WMEKit apps, but having an account doesn't by itself give you access to any app. Each app decides who can use it (for example, WME Requests access is granted by its admins) and has its own terms and privacy policy covering what you do there. If an app's terms conflict with these about your use of that app, the app's terms apply.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • sign in to, or try to access, an account that isn't yours;
  • create accounts in bulk or by automated means, or impersonate another person;
  • get around bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), rate limits, two-factor authentication, or any other security measure;
  • probe, scan or test the service's security without our written permission. If you find a vulnerability, please report it privately to wazer@wmekit.com and give us reasonable time to fix it;
  • overload or interfere with the service, or use it to send unwanted email (for example by triggering password-reset or invitation emails to other people);
  • use the service to break the law, or in a way that breaks Waze's or Google's terms.

6. Disabling and closing accounts

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing wazer@wmekit.com.

We may disable an account, without notice if necessary, if it breaks these terms, puts other users or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. A disabled account is signed out everywhere and can't sign in to any WMEKit app. If you think we've made a mistake, email us and we'll review it.

7. Changes and availability

WMEKit is run on a volunteer basis and offered for free. We work to keep it available and secure, but we may change, suspend or stop the service, or any part of it, at any time. Some changes, such as a move to a new web address, may sign you out or require you to add passkeys or security keys again. If we decide to shut the service down, we'll give you reasonable notice by email where we can.

8. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, access or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Because the service is free, our total liability to you for any claim about it is limited to 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above, and if a change materially affects you, we'll tell you by email or with a notice when you sign in, before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.

11. General

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the account service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute about them or the service will be heard by the courts of South Africa, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.
